I know the controversy continues…such modern architecture nestled in with old Victorian and classics. Does it work? Is it out of place?

Everyone’s opinion is personal. Regardless, the new modern architecture is here and it is showing up on a block near you! So lets go look at some!

This Saturday we are going to be keeping it REAL…estate that is. Seriously, most first time home buyers tell me they need to keep the price range closer to $300k price range. So HBBTs selection of homes include 3 of them that are UNDER $300k!

It is time to broaden our horizons and check out more great Denver neighborhoods! This week we are going to see what is new and exciting in the Capital Hill, South of City Park, and Congress Park. It will be a great tour as we cruise thru Cheesman Park and neighborhood hotspots!

To get our coffee fix on before we start, I’ll see you at DazBog Coffee located at 1201 E 9th Ave. Get there a little early to enjoy your beverage or breakfast snack so that we can depart at 10 am.

As the days of summer are getting hotter, so is the selection of homes coming on the market. We are in the peak month of listings so you will be certain to gain a great perspective of the Denver market by joining the bike tour tomorrow or for the rest of the summer!

First off, I have to mention last Saturday…my Fourth of July was absolutely complete after watching all the young Americans riding their decorated bikes down the street towards the Highland Farmers Market! It was outstanding! All the little kids with their red, white & blue, and balloons! Ending up at the park across from Little Man Ice Cream for a picnic and slice of pie! Well done Highland Neighbors! That was fantastic! (Sorry I didn’t think to bring my camera!)

Also, if you are looking for a great Saturday Farmers Market, the Highland Farmers Market was well stocked with local fruits and veggies as well as natural beef, organic wine, lotions, massage, face painting and live music!

Now…on to this week’s tour!
Potter Highlands / LoHi selection of listings ranging from $315,000 to $375,000. There is a special loft that we are adding in for a treat to look at one of the finest city views currently available for only $559,000.

With coffee and egg’n'cheese sandwiches to go, the six of us hopped on our bikes to start the tour of 5 NorthWest Denver homes. A good cross section of riders included a Highlands couple, Wash Park couple and a Berkeley resident where we all had the love of walkable, bikeable neighborhoods in common. Our first stop ended up being tour favorite with the too-good-to-true back yard bbq kitchen remodel at 3316 Raleigh St. Complete with pergola, outside grill, bar space, and refrigerator none of us wanted to leave and were able to capture some great home improvement and garden ideas for ourselves.

We crossed 38th Ave and saw the most remarkable home of the tour 3821 Lowell Blvd. The 1890s home has been completely redone by a local architect couple and boasts over 2000 sq ft of historic charm and refinement. Original wood, moldings, staircase and more, this home exudes history but lives modern with its high ceilings, gourmet kitchen, lavish bathrooms and large closets – on an 9520 sq ft lot! The busy location near 38th and Lowell was no longer a deterrent as the home and lot are truly superb!

Through quiet, treed streets we made out way down Julian to see two more remodeled Tudor homes.

Having too much fun and not wanting to end the ride just yet, we all continued our ride to Rocky Mountain and Berkeley Lakes, followed by a ride down Tennyson to see all the local activity.

This Saturday is Tudor Tour!

Coming up for this Saturday are some wonderful homes selected in the Highlands, Berkeley and Grand View area. Melissa Nelson, will be guiding the tour. The ride will be an easy route heading out from Peaberry Coffee. Price ranges are mid $300’s to upper $400’s, several are focusing on Tudor style homes, with two Victorian in the mix. Most are exceptionally large for the NW Denver area, so if you are looking for a home with some space and move-in condition, this may be the tour for you.
